Camping Etiquette
Camping during Hesquiaht Days is a wonderful way to connect with nature, spend time with loved ones, and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. To ensure everyone has a pleasant experience, please follow these guidelines:
- Respect Hesquiaht Staff: They are here to make your experience enjoyable. Be patient during busy arrival and departure times.
- Quiet Hours: Ask about designated quiet hours. Keep noise levels down, especially late at night and early in the morning.
- Fire Safety: Follow fire bans, properly extinguish campfires, and never leave coals smoking.
- Smoking: Dispose of cigarette butts responsibly.
- Garbage Disposal: Remove all garbage from your campsite and use designated disposal areas.
- Wildlife Safety: Do not approach wildlife. Bear sightings are common.
- Safety in Numbers: Explore with a partner, whether in the woods or on the beach.
- Alcohol and Drugs: This is a family event with zero tolerance for alcohol and drugs.
- Age Restrictions: Must be 16 years or older to board boats without parental supervision.
- Child Supervision: Keep an eye on children at all times.
- Leave No Trace: Return your campsite to its original condition before leaving.
